Steve Fenberg served as the Colorado Senate President and Senate Majority Leader while representing Senate District 18 in the State Senate. Steve led on various issues throughout his legislative tenure, but is most known for championing reforms to strengthen Colorado’s democracy, advancing the transition to a more modern and sustainable electricity system, and dramatically increasing Colorado’s funding for public lands, transportation, and air quality improvements. 

Prior to entering the Senate, Steve served for a decade as the founding Executive Director for New Era Colorado, the largest state-based young voter mobilization organization in the country. Under Steve’s leadership, New Era Colorado registered hundreds of thousands of young people to vote, helping shape Colorado’s current political landscape. 

Steve now is an independent consultant on public policy issues and is a co-owner of a small cocktail bar, Bread Bar, located in the historic town of Silver Plume. Steve lives in Boulder with his wife Lindsay, daughters Isa and Marlow, and their dog Ellie.
